Islay restaurants have just got nice ‘n’ peaty in the form of our fabulous pizzeria restaurant – Peatzeria. Situated in Bowmore, over-looking stunning Lochindaal, you not only get to sample delicious food, you are in an exquisite location. Opened in April 2017 the restaurant has gone from strength to strength. It has been a great addition to Bowmore and the restaurant scene on Islay.
Obviously, our pizzas use some locally sourced Islay food produce. As a result, you can choose from a unique, mouth-watering menu. For example, one of our specialty pizzas comes in the form of a seafood pizza. Lounging on top of this delightful pizza base, nests Islay lobster, scallops and Bradan Rost. Furthermore, you can create your very own pizza from a list of our ingredients – great for the children and us big kids! Dessert pizzas are also available. All our pizzas are handmade and stretched, using only Caputto “00” flour from Naples and are proofed for at least 24 hours producing a moist light pizza base, both aromatic and delicious. Beside Lochindaal, our restaurant sits in an Episcopalian church dating back to 1903. Seating up 36 people, 22 on the mezzanine level and 14 downstairs, you can take in the history of the island in a contemporary bistro style atmosphere. In addition, during the summer months, you can dine outdoors, overlooking the beautiful waters of Lochindaal. Outside we can seat up to 26 people. Our chef Paul has many years experience behind him in the culinary world. Having fed the mouths of the rich and famous you will be treated to the same delicious delights.
We are open 7 days a week from 12noon – 10pm. Our Peatzeria menu is available all day. We are perfect for an afternoon coffee made from our traditional barista style machine and you can also sample our delicious local cakes. In addition, you can spoil yourselves with our specialty Italian Ice Creams which can be enjoyed either sitting in the sun outside with the view over Lochindaal or to take away.
